Bis in die Haarspitzen gesund
Understanding, preventing and treating hair loss and scalp problems
What it's about
A lot gets said about hair and scalp, a lot gets promised, and even more gets sold. From the outside it's hard to tell what holds up. That's exactly where I want to help you: understand what's happening on your head, and decide for yourself instead of trusting a label.
I spent five years on this. For every claim I tell you where you stand: is it proven, does it only sound plausible, or has no one looked closely enough yet? And where I don't know, I say so.
The book is written; I'm checking the last few sources. Leave your address and you'll be the first to know when it's out and where to get it.

Despite his immense ambition, his political and military talent and, at his peak, his almost unlimited power, Julius Caesar could not control one aspect of his life: his hair loss. In his “Lives of the Caesars”, written around 121 AD, Suetonius records Caesar's partial baldness. Out of embarrassment, Caesar combed his remaining hair forward and across his crown to hide the bald patches. Hair loss, and the psychological burden that comes with it, is as old as human civilisation, and it can affect anyone.
About the author
Dr. Holger Scheib is a chemist and studied in Germany and the United States. For more than twenty years he researched how proteins find their shape and how small molecules interact with them. Over the course of his scientific career he worked in the pharmaceutical and food industries as well as in academia. One question fascinated him in particular: how evolution produces the venoms of snakes and lizards. He has published in Nature, PNAS and the Annual Reviews, among others, and has been an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Queensland for more than a decade.
Whether a molecule heals or harms is decided in the body. That question has carried him from snake venoms to the shelves of the drugstore. Today, health is at the centre of everything he does. As „The HealthChemist“ he looks behind the scenes and into the dark corners of products and ingredients, on social media and at drholger.com. The same standard drives the nutrition-and-shopping app Naviyara, which he built with a friend, and the CuraCap hair serums he developed for and with his wife Christine. Research alone never fulfilled him: sharing knowledge, making the core concepts of chemistry understandable and placing them into our everyday lives has for many years become a matter of the heart.
